  • Increases the cost of inpatient stay to$18, 244 per episode and increases length of stay up to 18 additional days.

  • We offer education on the latest screening tools, medication therapy, and latest guidelines to a multidisciplinary audience (pre-hospital to ICU management)
  • We have already developed and written a transfer and treatment guideline that promotes standardized treatment protocols with the Sepsis Collaborative

  • The Mississippi Healthcare Alliance is actively working to reduce sepsis-related morbidity and mortality through several key initiatives:
  • Standardized Treatment Protocols: MHCA has developed and implemented a Sepsis Treatment Protocol and Transfer Guidance to ensure timely recognition and intervention.
  • Education and Training: MHCA offers education on the latest screening tools, medication therapies, and guidelines to a multidisciplinary audience, from pre-hospital care to ICU management.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Facilities: MHCA collaborates with hospitals and healthcare providers to promote standardized treatment protocols and improve patient outcomes.
These efforts are part of MHCA’s commitment to enhancing sepsis care and reducing its impact on Mississippi’s population.
